Welcome to StockRockets.

Here is the edge our website software attempts to exploit:

Stock Analyst price target increases of large magnitude, in conjunction with other factors, are associated with positive post-event drift . A few analyst reports, with specific attributes we've identified and backtested, cause shares to move very sharply higher over a short, 1-5 day, period of time.

Companies with transformational events, or other events that imply a substantial overnight change in the value of the underlying business are what we're looking for.

StockRockets is envisioned as a tool for sophisticated professionals, daytraders and other retail investors.

This software is what we use for our own proprietary hedge fund.

The columns are sortable. You can download into excel to slice and dice.

Obviously not all stocks with positive attributes surge higher. Many other factors can influence the positive or negative performance of these stocks.

Doesn't a stock's price quickly adjust to reflect the new bullished developments? To a degree yes, however human beings are very often slow to react/fully appreciate bullish events. Cognitive biases are at play. In particular, the Anchoring Bias, which is the tendency for investors to "anchor" on previous price levels despite strong reasons for a company to be priced significantly higher. An analyst may say a stock is worth 100% more post-event, but investors are very reluctant to buy into a large gap at new highs.

Two sides to this site. Can be used by clear-eyed pro's who want to cut through the noise and focus on the best analyst action setups. Or on the other extreme, retail traders might view StockRockets like a sports betting site focused on stocks.
